Flower and Leaf Leg Warmers




Flower and Leaf Leg Warmers
Plus size
Size 11 and 10.5 US needles dpns or cable needles
Size 8 US for leafs and flowers
Gauge 3 stitches by 4 rows done in straight stitch using size 11
180 yards of worsted weight
4 purl seed beads


The warmers are knit up first with the leafs sew on later. The larger needles give a looser knit that is very stretchy and fit a wide range of larger sized cafes. Shaping is achieved with changing of needle size.

k = knit
k2tog = knit 2 stitches together
purl = purl to end
p2tog = purl 2 stitches together
sl 1 = slide one stitch purl wise
2 by 2 = knit 2 stitches, purl 2 stitches
yo = yarn over needle
( )x = repeat directions inside brackets as many times as indicated


Cast on 40 stitches with size US 11 needles, join in the round


1 - 8 ) 2 by 2
9 - 16 ) knit

Change to US 10.5 sized needles
17 - 27 ) knit
28 ) ( k2tog, k18 )x 2
29 - 38 ) knit
39 ) ( k2tog, k17 )x 2
40 - 43 ) knit
44 - 53 ) 2 by 2
Bind off. Weave in ends.

Cast on 3 using size US 8 needles

2 ) purl
3) k2, yo, k1, yo, k2
4 ) purl
5 ) k2 tog, ( k1, yo )x 2, k1, k2tog
6 ) purl
7 ) k2tog, ( k1, yo )x 2, k1, k2tog
8 ) p2tog, p3, p2tog
9 ) k2, yo, k1, yo, k2
10 ) p2tog, p1, p2tog
11 ) sl 1, k2tog, psso

( make 2 )
Cast on 24 sts using size 8 US needles
*k1, bind off 4 stitches * repeat to end ( 8 stitches on needle )
Cut yarn leaving tail about 16 inches, thread onto yarn needle

Place remaining stitches on yarn needle, pull tight and secure.
Sew in place on pattern. Sew one seed bead into the center of each flower.
