Face Cloth


7 ½ by 7 inches approximately
40 yards black worsted weight cotton yarn
3 yards yellow worsted weight cotton yarn
Size 5 US needles
Exact gauge is not essential to this project

Stitches

K = knit stitch
P = purl stitch
Seed stitch = knit one stitch purl one stitch across row, next row knit all purls and purl all knits. Continue in this manner.
( )x = repeat directions inside brackets as many times as indicated
( y ) = use yellow yarn for that stitch

Cast on 34 stitches

First 5 rows are done in seed stitch with black yarn

1) ( p1, k1 )x 2, p1, knit to last 4 stitches, ( p1, k1 )x 2
2) ( k1, p1 )x 2, k1, purl to last 4 stitches, ( k1, p1 )x 2

Repeat rows 1 and 2 four more times
