Large Heart Lace Washcloth



11” by 11”
74 yards worsted weight cotton yarn, shown unblocked in Peaches & Crème’s Shaded Pastels.
Size 8 US needles.
Gauge 4 sts. by 6 rows per 1” ( not important )
Cast on 43 stitches.
Knit 4 rows.
Row 1: k4, * yo, k2tog, k3, yo, k1, yo, k3, skp, yo, k1,* repeat to last 3 sts., k3.
Row 2: k3, purl to last 3 sts., k3.
Row 3: k5, * yo, k4tog, yo, k3,* to last 2 sts., k2.
Row 4: k3, purl to last 3 sts., k3.
Row 5: k4, * k1, k2tog, yo, k5, yo, skp, k2,* repeat to last 3 sts., k3.
Row 6: k3, purl to last 3 sts., k3.
Row 7: k4, * k2tog, yo, k7, yo, skp, k1,* repeat to last 3 sts., k3.
Row 8: k3, purl to last 3 sts., k3.
Row 9: k3, k2tog, yo, k9, yo, * sl1, k2tog, psso, yo, k9, yo,* to last 5 sts., skp, k3.
Row 10: k3, purl to last 3 sts., k3.
Repeat these 10 rows for a total of 5 times.
Work rows 1 thru 4.
Knit 4 rows and bind off, weave in ends.

There's a photo on Ravelry of that take on the same basic stitch pattern ( it’s in Vogue Knitting, from the late 80’s.) The differences are small. I used a larger needle and didn’t stop in the middle of the top heart repeat. Other than that I was very surprised to see how closely two people can think alike. Thank you for pointing it out :)
